FAQ
Are cocktail picks sturdy?
Wooden cocktail picks are known to be sturdier than plastic ones, in particular. They withstand the weight of a skewer perfectly and do not break when you spear food, even hard food (carrots, tomatoes, etc.).
Which type of pick should you choose for your needs?
The most common picks are "golf picks": easy to hold, sturdy and attractive. For a more chic look, opt for "ribbon picks". Finally, for more neutral use, to hold your food discreetly, and above all for your skewers, we recommend straight picks.
Why choose bamboo picks?
Bamboo picks are nicer in the mouth (less rough than wood) and more eco-responsible, as bamboo grows extremely fast. Bamboo is generally more expensive, but given the quantity used to make a toothpick, this difference is not reflected in the price.
Which size of wooden pick should you choose?
Standard pick sizes range from 9 to 20 cm. 9 cm picks are often used as a tool provided for guests to help themselves neatly, while 20 cm skewer picks come into direct contact with the food. Intermediate sizes are mainly used to make small skewers of fruit, vegetables and cheese.
Why buy picks?
Wooden and bamboo picks are extremely versatile: cocktail decoration, holding food, stirring, identifying drinks, and much more! So whatever your one-off use, you can always use the leftover picks at your next event. For your coffees, consider stirrers, which are more suitable.
How many picks should you plan for your event?
For standard events such as cocktail parties, buffets, tastings, allow 3 to 5 picks per person. For more private receptions (wedding, birthday, etc.), 2 or 3 picks per person will be enough.
Where to buy wooden picks or bamboo picks?
Wooden picks and bamboo picks are often sold in supermarkets, but rarely in large quantities and therefore at prices that are too high for professionals. That is why we offer picks on the Covr website, sold by 1,000 or more, at very competitive prices and with fast delivery in 2 to 5 working days!
