Which egg box should you choose?

Three criteria are enough: the number of eggs per box, the size of your eggs and how you pack, by hand or on a packing machine. The table lists the characteristics given on each product page.

      Separable box or single-piece box?

A separable box is delivered joined in twos or threes and is split apart with a single movement at the time of filling: it is the format for direct sales and markets, where boxes of 6 are handed over. A single-piece box of 10 or 12 eggs, with a flat lid, is better suited to labelling and shelf display, and it is the format used by packing machines.

Choosing well according to the size of your eggs

Egg weight grades range from S (under 53 g) to XL (73 g and over), via M (53 to 63 g) and L (63 to 73 g). According to the manufacturer Huhtamaki, eggs from hens over one year old in traditional farming can exceed 80 g: in that case choose a box advertised for large eggs, such as the Pick&Pack XL. The other models are rated up to 73 or 75 g.

      Labelling your boxes: mandatory information

Several models accept a label printed in offset in up to four colours (TopView, TopCom, Upac, ComPac). For Class A eggs packed by a packing centre, the packaging must show the packing centre code, the quality class, the weight class, the best-before date, a recommendation to keep the eggs cool, the farming method and the explanation of the producer code.

      A pallet offer, for whom?

Our egg boxes are sold by the full pallet: from 3,240 boxes for the ComPac 12 to 11,340 boxes for the Pick&Pack M/L. This is the format for farms in regular production, packing centres, cooperatives and wholesalers. The delivery time depends on the model and the manufacturer: it is given on each product page.
