Are paper cup lids waterproof?
Paper cup lids are intended to prevent splashes and to avoid an accident if the cup should tip over. They are not intended to make the cup waterproof. For maximum protection, favour bagasse lids, which are thicker and fit better.
What is the difference between paper board and bagasse cup lids?
Paper board lids are cheaper but they are slightly less secure: bagasse lids hold better. Bagasse lids also have the advantage of coming in a dome format, that is, rounded so that you can add toppings to your drink while still covering it! Can you put a paper cup lid in the microwave?
In general, it is not recommended to put paper board in the microwave unless it carries the mention "microwave safe". It is therefore preferable to remove the paper board lid from your cup!
